At Hannaher’s, we are committed to providing environmentally friendly options to our clients. One company that has been singled out for their “green” products is Steelcase.
On November 15, 2006, Steelcase was awarded a silver MBDC Cradle to Cradle Certification for an entire powered workstation.
Steelcase continues to demonstrate it’s commitment to the cradle to cradle design concept. They expect all of their leading systems products to achieve certification within the next 6-12 months. They also plan to eliminate PVC in their portfolio by 2012. Also, all future materials will undergo a chemistry assessment.
The Cradle to Cradle Product Certification places a major emphasis on the human and ecological health impacts of a material’s ingredients, and focuses on the ability to recycle or safely compost the material. In addition to stringent material criteria, which includes prohibiting the use of PVC, companies seeking this certification are required to meet strict criteria for social fairness and corporate practices and ethics.
PolyVision, a Steelcase company and product sold through Hannaher’s, introduced the world’s first and only silver Cradle to Cradle certified whiteboards featuring the new e3 environmental ceramic steel surface. PolyVision’s complete marker, chalk and tack board product portfolio achieved GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification and GREENGUARD for Children and Schools Certification in June 2006.To learn more about Steelcase Environmental products, feel free to contact us.
