POSITION/TITLE: Lead Installer/Installer
DEPARTMENT: Operations
Reports to: Operations Manager

General Responsibilities:
The Lead Installer will act as a job foreman and is responsible for effectively leading the installation team. Performs basic tasks and supports installation team in the movement, delivery and installation of office furniture at customer locations. This may involve loading/unloading, packaging disposal, delivery, placement, assembly/disassembly of office furniture product. Works under the direction of the Operations Manager with a team of other installers completing all assigned tasks. Responsible for representing Hannaher’s Inc. in a courteous and professional manner with a focus on customer service.

Specific Duties:
• Assist the installations crew with product loading and off-loading in the field or the warehouse
• Acquire knowledge to install furniture per installation techniques and manufacturer guidelines by job shadowing other installers and receiving mentoring
• Assist the Lead Installer with loading equipment and tools for assigned projects
• Work as part of an installation team maintaining a positive relationship with all team members
• Follow proper safety procedures for moving and installing furniture
• Follow company safety guidelines and wear protective equipment when needed
• Attend periodic product training sessions offered by Steelcase and Installation Team Leader
• Expand knowledge of interpreting furniture blueprints
• Communicate to Lead Installer any challenges or issues that occur on the job
• Ensure assigned trucks are fully cleaned out and swept prior to their re-assignment
• Maintain a clean appearance and wear proper uniform at all times
• Follow company protocols for disposal of refuse, pallets, and recyclables
• Maintain valid driving license, unless otherwise approved by management
• Contribute to the success of Custer and departmental goals

Skills and Qualifications
• High school diploma or related experience in construction and/or office furniture installation.
• Punctual reporting to work with flexibility to accommodate night and weekend work as
determined by business needs
• Good physical condition with the physical ability to lift to 50 lb., hoist and safely position product overhead and repetitive squatting, bending and lifting to perform connection of components under work surfaces
• Ability to complete tasks as assigned
• Develop communication skills to ensure proper communication with all Custer personnel
• Maintain a consistent positive attitude focused on teamwork and customer satisfaction
• Ability to work with a diverse workforce including sub-contractors
• Basic computer, reading, writing and math skills
• Possess a mechanical aptitude and vision for assembling office furniture
• Possess valid State driver’s license, clean driving record, unless otherwise approved by management

• Construction, skilled trades, or office furniture installation experience preferred
